DESCRIPTION: Adopted in WW2 for all U.S. service rifles, this is the early (and scarce) first type with smaller, thinner gauge and unreinforced clamp and narrower slide buckle. All parts phosphated steel. This one has remains of an ink stamp (maker and date probably), but is illegible. Hard to find as most were issued and used up.CONDITION: Very good. Some surface rust on metal parts, webbing has been cleaned.
